Paddy Pimblett has ‘Inside Knowledge’ on Michael Chandler from MMA legend joining them on UFC 314 card

Paddy Pimblett has received some pointers from Patricio Pitbull on tips on how to beat Michael Chandler.

UFC newcomer Patricio Pitbull was among the many first few fighters to work out Michael Chandler and straight away, he did. Pitbull stopped the Bellator Lightweight Champion with punches a little bit greater than a minute into their fight to grow to be the promotion’s first simultaneous two-division champion back in 2019.

En path to the UFC lightweight title, #12-ranked contender Paddy Pimblett looks to do more of the identical against Chandler within the co-main event of UFC 314 on April 12 in Miami.

Chandler attempts to bounce back from a pair of defeats to Dustin Poirier and former champ Charles Oliveira at UFC 309 last November.

Paddy Pimblett’s ‘inside knowledge’ from Patricio Pitbull

Bumping into Chandler’s former foe on the UFC 314 press conference earlier this month, Pimblett says he got ‘inside knowledge’ from Pitbull to assist him in his fight.

“I used to be chatting with Pitbull, someone who knocked Chandler out in the primary round, and he was giving me a couple of recommendations on tips on how to beat him also,” Pimblett told The Motion Network.

“So we had a little bit little bit of inside knowledge from someone who fought him.

“He was just telling me little things, what Chandler does,” Pimblett said of Pitbull’s suggestions. “‘You’ll be able to catch him and get punches off…’ Pitbull knocked him out with an overarm right. I’m lots longer than Pitbull.”

Paddy Pimblett says size difference will shock Michael Chandler

Pitbull and Pimblett are two very different fighters. Pitbull is a 5’6″ featherweight with an enormous resume in Bellator. The Brazilian fought across three divisions in his profession, winning two world championships and having 14 title fight wins to his credit (15 in case you include a tournament final), making him the best Bellator fighter ever.

Seven years younger than former Bellator stars Pitbull and Chandler, the 5’10” Pimblett’s an extended and lankier grappler with 11 submissions on his record.

“Pitbull’s featherweight. Chandler’s shorter than me,” Pimblett noted the two-inch height difference. “That’s something on the press conference the opposite day, I noticed much more.

“I knew I used to be gonna be greater than Mike. I knew he was taller than Pitbull, but I believed Mike can be wider than he’s. I’m nearly as wide as him. I’m a few inches taller than him. I believe he’s gonna be surprised on the range difference.

“He’s gonna need to leap in an enormous, big way for the shots, and I’m gonna catch him when he’s leaping in,” Pimblett said of how he sees the fight with Chandler playing out.”

As for Patricio Pitbull, the Chandler-slayer debuts against Yair Rodriguez at UFC 314 on the identical night.
