Former UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards‘s struggles against high-level grapplers continued Saturday in London. For the primary time in his profession, Edwards has lost consecutive fights, after falling to Sean Brady by submission within the UFC London headliner.
Edwards entered UFC London hoping to secure a possible rematch against Belal Muhammad after losing the belt at UFC 304 last July. Muhammad will face Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 315, and Brady is now a top name to observe for the winner after his performance.
To get back into the welterweight title mix, Edwards will likely have to earn not less than two wins before making a case for a title shot. Luckily, the welterweight division is stuffed with intriguing names and stars to fight opposite Edwards soon.
Michael Bisping matchmakes ‘fun fight’ for Leon Edwards after UFC London

Bisping believes Edwards has some personal growth to do after UFC London, but believes a showdown with a surging welterweight star could be the right scenario for his next fight.
In a recent post to X, Bisping suggested an enormous name for Edwards’s next UFC booking.
“I’d prefer to see him against a striker so he can have a fun fight,” Bisping said of Edwards. “Ian Garry makes a variety of sense when you ask me.”
Ian Machado Garry suffered his first profession defeat to Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 310 in December. Garry is furious with the UFC’s welterweight title fight booking, and believes he deserved the decision to face Muhammad despite coming off of a loss.
Garry and Edwards were teammates earlier of their careers before a messy divorce between Garry and the gym. Entering UFC London, Garry believed he deserved to be ahead of Edwards within the rankings after his recent loss got here on short notice.
Sean Brady continues to troll Leon Edwards after UFC London
As Edwards ponders his next move, he continues to feel the wrath of Brady’s trolling after UFC London. Brady imitated Edwards’s ‘headshot dead’ moniker in a post-fight social media post and accused Edwards and his team of unsportsmanlike conduct during a recent interview with Ariel Helwani.
Brady felt neglected by Edwards, fans, and pundits entering UFC London. But after his career-best performance, Brady is knocking on the door of a title shot, depending on Rakhmonov’s return timeline from injury.
Within the meantime, Edwards still hasn’t addressed his following publically after UFC London and can look to bounce back later this 12 months. In line with Bisping, a win over a top contender like Garry could be enough to get him back into the welterweight title conversation.
