Robinson shared her thoughts about Jermaine Dupri’s comments during a video interview with Angela Yee. She eased into her clapback on the producer by saying that individuals heard what they desired to versus what she said within the video. For instance, she mentioned that she researched automotive life, and weighed all her options before making the final word selection.
Then, the singer called out people who identified her physical upkeep, like having her fingernails painted. Angela Yee then mentioned Jermaine Dupri’s comments about Dawn having an assistant while living in a automotive.
“For that comment, I used to be like initially I’ve only met him once in my life. I remember being around, but circuitously meeting him,” she said. Adding, “…I used to be shocked. Artist to artist…we don’t attack one another like that. You’ll swear that he knows me directly, and he knows my story. It’s like where are you coming from?
