Marvel Rivals Shortening Seasons, Releasing A Recent Hero Every Month

Marvel Rivals is shortening its seasons, which that, going forward, a brand new hero shall be added to the roster once a month. This transformation will start with Season 3, which should start sometime within the July to August timeframe.

Announced within the Marvel Rivals Season 2 Dev Vision, starting with Season 3, Marvel Rivals seasons shall be two months long as a substitute of three, with heroes arriving firstly and midpoints of every season. Which means that heroes will drop about once a month, adding latest characters to the roster at a quick pace. For reference, Overwatch 2 seasons last the same length, but latest heroes are only added every 2-3 seasons, or about six months in between latest heroes.

Season 2 of Marvel Rivals, which can see the addition of Emma Frost at launch on April 11 for a Hellfire Gala season, with Ultron arriving on the season midpoint, roughly six weeks from the beginning. Season 1 saw the addition of all 4 members of the Improbable 4, but NetEase said that future seasons would only feature two latest characters. A shorter season could also mean shorter battle passes, but NetEase said it will be sharing more details about any changes in the longer term.

The video also revealed that Season 2 will see the introduction of recent color options for popular skins–although it wasn’t clear if these would require a further purchase–and the power to gift skins to other players. It also revealed latest team-ups, including one for Captain America and Winter Soldier, along with updates for older ones. A couple of being removed altogether, just like the team-up for Thor, Captain America, and Storm. Season 2 of Marvel Rivals arrives on April 11.
