Matt Barnes Opens Up About Losing His Family

The daddy of three has been pretty quiet about his private life following his ex’s claims he allegedly cheated on her with seven other women, including Masika Kalysha, in January. It’s price noting that Kalysha has denied these allegations.

But on Thursday, Barnes released a brand new podcast episode through which he candidly admits that his behavior ultimately led to losing his family members. He now recognizes that his lack of emotional presence, empathy, and strength as a household provider played an enormous role in that loss.

“Through my actions, I literally just lost my family… I wasn’t there emotionally, I wasn’t empathetic,” he expressed partly.

Refusing to disclose his emotions to others, which he indicates is a habit he’s kept since childhood, Barnes remembered his ex regularly telling him he acted like a “wall.”

The ex-basketball star continued to reflect, realizing that while the grown man he’s today could seem to have all of it together, the emotionally wounded boy from his past continues to be lingering inside him.

“Attempting to dig back and understand, and I began counseling that, such as you said, little Matt, from back then continues to be hurt — and still trying to seek out his way. Although grown Matt seems like he has all of it, little Matt is there greater than I realize,” he said.

He went on to challenge his male viewers who can relate to the struggle of expressing their emotions to others. Moreover, Barnes posed the query of tips on how to cry when the tears just won’t come. While the California native says he understands the ability of shedding them, he hasn’t truly cried in “30 years.”

Anansa Sims Was Ready With The Clapback

Chile, Sims had her thumbs able to type, oh-kay! Inside hours of the podcast going live, sis had a full response typed up. And y’all understand it’s serious when the clapback is long and ends with “Peace & Blessings.”

After accusing Barnes of wrecking their relationship by allegedly cheating, Sims was not here for the “half-truths” in a supposed try and win over public sympathy. Moreover, she called him out for supposedly putting on a show of vulnerability for likes and follows as a substitute of manning up where it counted.

Sims says their children still need emotional support over their father’s actions and that Barnes changing the narrative of what caused their split did the alternative of healing open wounds.

“Don’t post half truths about me and our past relationship to achieve sympathy from the masses,” she wrote in her IG post. “In the event you don’t have respect for yourself or for me, no less than have respect for our kids who follow you and see your posts. Your post is triggering for the children and I, while we’re within the midst of healing and rebuilding our lives. We’re those who reaped all of the damage you attributable to your constant selfish, toxic decisions.”

Moreover, Sims stressed that Barnes should stop talking about their past and that each one she and the children were attempting to do at this point was mend and move forward.

“If you wish to do some good, please don’t discuss me, go get consistent therapy and most significantly start constructing a relationship with God,” she added before concluding with, “Peace & Blessings.”
