John Travolta Posts Touching Tribute to Late Son Jett: ‘Love You Endlessly’

John Travolta is remembering his late son, Jett.

The Pulp Fiction actor took to Instagram on Sunday, April 13, to commemorate what would have been Jett’s thirty third birthday.

Sharing a throwback photo of himself holding a young Jett, who might be seen fiddling with his dad’s ears, Travolta wrote, “Joyful birthday Jett – I miss you a lot! Love you endlessly!”

Jett died on the age of 16 in January 2009 during a family vacation within the Bahamas. The teenager died after affected by a seizure.

Travolta, 71, shared Jett, daughter Ella Bleu and son Benjamin, 14, along with his late wife, Kelly Preston. Preston died on the age of 57 in July 2020 after battling breast cancer.

“It’s with a really heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer,” Travolta shared in an Instagram post announcing the news on the time. “She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many. My family and I’ll endlessly be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all of the medical centers which have helped, in addition to her many friends and family members who’ve been by her side.”

“Kelly’s love and life will at all times be remembered. I can be taking a while to be there for my children who’ve lost their mother, so forgive me prematurely in the event you don’t hear from us for some time. But please know that I’ll feel your outpouring of affection within the weeks and months ahead as we heal,” the statement continued.

Travolta has previously been open about how he deals with grief after losing his eldest son and his wife.

“I learned that mourning someone, coping with grief is something very personal,” Travolta told Esquire Spain in April 2021. “Mourning is individual and experiencing your personal journey is what can lead you to heal. Your grief is different from one other person’s journey.”

“Crucial thing you may do to assist one other person once they are in mourning is allow them to pass though it and never complicate it with yours,” he explained. “Let’s say you lose someone and on the funeral you’re very sad, then one other person approaches you who’s feeling more sadder after which doesn’t leave enough space so that you can mourn. It will be like two boats plummeting to the underside. That’s my experience.”
