IPL 2025 Points Table, Orange Cap and Purple Cap after LSG vs CSK: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 5 wickets within the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) on the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Asked to bat first, LSG posted 166/7 as Rishabh Pant top-scored with 63 off 49 balls, while opener Mitchell Marsh made 30 in 25 deliveries. Khaleel Ahmed and Anshul Kamboj, who picked up a wicket each in the primary six overs as Ravindra Jadeja finished with figures of two/24 in three overs.
In reply, CSK chased down the goal with three balls to spare as legendary MS Dhoni smashed an important 26 off 11 balls after opener Rachin Ravindra made 37 in 22 balls. Shivam Dube struck an unbeaten 43 in 37 deliveries, while young debutant Shaik Rasheed impressed with a 19-ball 27.
CSK ended their five-match losing streak with the win over LSG, but didn’t climb out of the last position on the IPL points table. LSG stayed in fourth place after their third lack of the season.

Orange Cap
Nicholas Pooran made just 8 runs but remained at the highest of the highest batters list. The LSG wicketkeeper-batter has 357 from seven matches.
His LSG teammate Mitchell Marsh also stayed within the Orange Cap Top 3 after scoring 30 from 25 balls. He now has 295 runs from seven games.
Gujarat Titans’ Sai Sudharsan is in second place with 329 runs to his name as Shreyas Iyer and Virat Kohli are protected within the Top 5.

Purple Cap
CSK’s Noor Ahmad failed to select up a wicket on the night but still maintained his lead at the highest of the Purple Cap list with 12 wickets.
His CSK teammate Khaleel Ahmed got one wicket to equal Shardul Thakur but jumped the LSG bowler into second place, with each having 11 scalps to their name.
Kuldeep Yadav was pushed out of the Top 3 but stayed within the Top 5 for the Purple Cap race, with 10 wickets from 5 games. Krishna is fifth with 10 wickets, followed by GT teammates R Sai Kishore and Mohammed Siraj, who all have 10 wickets each to their names.
