The time has finally arrived, and Larian Studios has released Baldur’s Gate 3’s final major game patch. It won’t be the large RPG’s final patch, as there’ll likely be minor bug fixes on the best way, but that is the last patch that may introduce latest content. So yes, this unfortunately means no more latest storylines, Origin characters, or companions. Fortunately, there’s already loads of content and stories waiting to be told through Baldur’s Gate 3. This also means we won’t hear much from Larian Studios for a bit, at the least not until the team is able to introduce its next project to the world.
To have a good time the discharge of Patch 8, Baldur’s Gate 3 teamed up with Spud Gun Studios for one final animated short. It even encompasses a special appearance by Swen Vincke, founder and CEO of Larian Studios, in his now-iconic metal armor.
As for Patch 8, well, the discharge notes are very long and you may see them of their entirety below. Major features include the implementation of cross-play, photo mode, and, most excitingly, a dozen latest subclasses. That’s one latest subclass for every playable class, featuring latest abilities, animations, VFX, unique summons, powerful cantrips, and voiced dialogue for the Oathbreaker Knight, available to those playing because the Oath of the Crown Paladin subclass. This can undoubtedly unlock latest ways to play through Baldur’s Gate 3. Here’s the total list of recent subclasses:
- Path of the Giant Barbarian
- College of Glamour Bard
- Death Domain Cleric
- Circle of Stars Druid
- Arcane Archer Fighter
- Way of the Drunken Master Monk
- Oath of the Crown Paladin
- Swarmkeeper Ranger
- Swashbuckler Rogue
- Shadow Magic Sorcerer

Despite not being an enormous fan of CRPGs myself, Baldur’s Gate 3 managed to win me over with its immersive storytelling. In my review, I described the sport as a deep, sprawling, and sophisticated RPG that’s as charming because it is memorable. It’s also included in my list of the very best games I’ve ever played.
