Ruben Amorim is anticipated to make several changes to his Manchester United side once they host Wolves within the Premier League today.

United set to crash out of the Europa League but staged a remarkable comeback in extra-time to knock out Lyon and reach the semi-finals.

Currently languishing in 14th place within the league, any hopes of a return to European next season rests solely on winning the Europa League.

As such, Amorim hinted post-match that he’ll look to rotate his side to maintain them fresh, potentially starting with today’s game against Wolves at Old Trafford.

Diogo Dalot has played every minute of motion for United since missing a 3-1 win over Southampton in mid-January, but Amorim hinted that the defender might be given a well-earned break this afternoon.

‘I even have to see. Players like [Diogo] Dalot are at all times ready, but today he is basically drained,’ he said.

‘The fellows who’re vulnerable to injury, we are going to try to save lots of them.’

There was concern for Victor Lindelof and Noussair Mazraoui after each left Old Trafford at half-time on Thursday, but Amorim confirmed that the duo will each be available for today’s clash.

‘He (Victor) is offered, he has personal issues like Nous [Mazraoui], so we needed to let him go,’ he said.

‘But every thing is okay now and I do know football is significant but there are things which might be more necessary. They can be able to face Wolves in the following game.’

Elsewhere, Matthijs de Ligt, Amad Diallo and Jonny Evans were all seen in training prior to United’s win over Lyon, but Amorim provided no suggestion that any of the trio could be fit for this afternoon.

As an alternative, he suggested that he might roll the dice with several young players, including Harry Amass and Chido Obi.

‘I feel it is just not the most effective moment or the most effective season to place some kids to play, because, again, they need a powerful base to essentially show what they will do,’ he said.

‘But on this moment we’d like to do it and sometimes you will have surprises. Ayden [Heaven] just played and I might be honest, we did it because we had injuries in that moment.

‘But today, I feel Ayden is my player so when he is prepared and facing the competition within the team, he’s able to play. So that you don’t know.

‘Amass did rather well today. Chido, [Obi] when he played, he played quite well. It’s a difficult moment, it is just not the proper moment for the youngsters to play, but when we’ve got to do it then we are going to do it.’

Predicted Man Utd XI to face Wolves

Onana; Yoro, Lindelof, Shaw; Mazraoui, Eriksen, Ugarte, Amass; Fernandes, Garnarcho; Obi.
