The trailer for WWE’s highly anticipated Netflix docuseries ‘WWE Unreal‘ has officially dropped — and it’s already generating loads of buzz.
Certainly one of the most important talking points is a fast glimpse of a whiteboard listing potential WrestleMania 41 matchups. Based on the timing, it’s believed that this snapshot got here from a creative meeting held throughout the winter months.
We recently provided an in depth breakdown of the WrestleMania 41 matches shown, highlighting what number of plans were altered, reworked, or scrapped entirely. In the times following the trailer’s release, several WWE talents contacted multiple sources to supply more insight. Fightful Select is reporting that some performers shared that they’d only heard vague rumors about WrestleMania 41 matches involving them — and were never formally approached about these ideas.
Interestingly, multiple wrestlers admitted that they only learned they were once penciled in for a WrestleMania match after seeing the trailer, leaving some surprised and others upset. A lot of names listed on the board ultimately didn’t make the ultimate WrestleMania card in any respect.
One particularly surprising revelation inside WWE circles was the inclusion of Asuka’s name. In response to sources, her mention on the whiteboard was seen as “very ambitious,” given the uncertainty surrounding her medical clearance on the time.
