Bishop T.D. Jakes Shares Major Announcement About His Role At Potter’s House Church
In response to TMZ, Bishop Jakes shared the announcement along with his congregation on Sunday, April 27. Throughout the service, he reportedly announced that he could be handing over his duties because the senior pastor of the megachurch to his daughter, Sarah Jakes Roberts, and her husband, Touré Roberts.
As for the rationale behind Jakes’ decision, he reportedly explained that he wants to handle “major economic issues” and serve “as a bridge between community, culture, and company alliances to assist position [the] nation for a stronger future.”
“As I enter my fiftieth 12 months in the general public highlight, I recognize the urgent need to handle more challenges of our time, particularly the looming threat of a disappearing middle class, social unrest, and shutting opportunity gaps. This pivotal moment calls me to concentrate on a legacy of economic empowerment, serving as a bridge between community, culture, and company alliances to assist position our nation for a stronger future,” he reportedly told the group, per Fox 4 News Dallas-Fort Value. “Elevating Pastor Touré and Pastor Sarah as the brand new senior pastors of The Potter’s House, we are going to honor our wealthy history while embracing a future that demands revolutionary ministry for the approaching age. This elevation just isn’t a departure but a rebirth. I won’t ever stop preaching and can proceed to minister. This moment isn’t an ending, it’s an expansion…”
Per Fox 4 News Dallas-Fort Value, the official appointment of Jakes Roberts and her husband will happen later this 12 months. Nonetheless, Bishop T.D. Jakes will remain “Chairman of the Board and spiritual overseer of The Potter’s House.”
