CSK Lose to SRH by 5 Wickets in IPL 2025 Match

CSK were put in to bat first against SRH after losing the toss and managed to attain 154 runs in 19.5 overs before being bowled out. While a number of batters like Dewald Brevis (42), Ayush Mhatre (30), Ravindra Jadeja (21), and Deepak Hooda (22) got off to decent starts, none were in a position to convert them into substantial innings, which ultimately cost the team a competitive total.

SRH chased down the goal comfortably, reaching 155/5 in 18.4 overs to register their third win of IPL 2025. Ishan Kishan (44) and Kamindu Mendis (32*) contributed significantly to Hyderabad’s run chase. After the match, CSK captain MS Dhoni shared his thoughts on the defeat through the post-match presentation.

“I feel we kept losing wickets and one other thing, in the primary innings the wicket was a bit higher. After the primary few overs it became a bit two paced but nothing out of the atypical. Yes the conditions got higher within the second innings. We were 15-20 runs short.”

“We’d like someone like him (Dewald Brevis) in the center order, we haven’t been in a position to dominate and get runs at pace against the spinners in the center overs. That is the world which we’d like to enhance. I feel in a tournament like this if majority of the players usually are not doing well, it becomes very difficult, if 4 of them usually are not performing and never putting runs on the board,” Dhoni added.
