Love Island USA viewers are finally getting answers about what the solid is told when a solid member — like Yulissa Escobar — disappears in the midst of the night.
Jeremiah Brown was asked about his experience during the “Speedy Morman” show on Monday, June 30, revealing, “They personally never told me anything. They never told us within the villa.”
Based on Jeremiah, the remaining of the Islanders weren’t given too many details.
“They said she left for private reasons — I can say that,” he noted. “I discovered later after getting my phone back that it was due to whatever happened.”
Jeremiah also confirmed that there was no offscreen goodbye. As an alternative, the solid woke up to search out Yulissa gone after they went to sleep along with her still sharing a bed with Ace Greene. Yulissa was introduced as an OG Islander in season 7 of Love Island USA, but by the second episode, she was gone. Narrator Iain Stirling later acknowledged that Ace was single because Yulissa “has left the villa.”
Yulissa’s surprise exit inspired a large number of memes about how she was asked to go away while everyone within the villa was still sleeping. The departure got here after clips of her using racial slurs on a podcast circulated online.
After making the trip back from Fiji in June, Yulissa broke her silence.
“First, I need to apologize for using a word I had no right in using. Podcast clips from years ago have recently resurfaced, and I need to deal with it directly,” she wrote via Instagram on the time. “In those clips, I used a word I never should’ve used, a racial slur.”
Yulissa expressed remorse for her past comments, adding, “I used it ignorantly, not fully understanding the burden, history, or pain behind it. I wasn’t attempting to be offensive or harmful, but I recognize now that intention doesn’t excuse impact. And the impact of that word is real. It’s tied to generations of trauma, and it will not be mine to make use of.”
While apologizing for the offensive statements, Yulissa explained how she has taken steps to learn and grow.
“On the time, I used to be speaking casually in conversation, not pondering deeply or critically about what I used to be saying. But that doesn’t take away from how fallacious it was,” she noted. “The reality is, I didn’t know higher then, but I do now. I’ve taken the time to reflect, to learn, and to grow from that moment.”
Yulissa continued: “I’ve modified so much since then, not only in how I speak, but in how I show up, how I carry myself, and the way I honor the experiences of others. Growth means recognizing once you were fallacious, even when it’s uncomfortable, and selecting to maneuver forward with humility and accountability.”
In her statement, Yulissa called out false posts attributed to her as well.
“There have also been fake statements circulating, things written or said by others that don’t reflect me or my heart. I need to make clear that that is my voice and my words,” she added. “I don’t need anyone to talk for me. I’m selecting to talk for myself because I take full ownership of my actions. Don’t take heed to the fake statements. That is my official statement. That is me, speaking on to you. To those that are disillusioned or offended, I understand and I apologize. I’m sorry.”
Recent episodes of Love Island USA are released six days every week — apart from Wednesdays — on Peacock.
