Chelsea are anticipating a proposal of £50million from Arsenal for his or her wantaway winger Noni Madueke.

The England international is currently in America on Club World Cup duty but has been the topic of serious transfer interest.

Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster his attacking options ahead of the brand new season and has added Madueke to an inventory of potential targets.

The Gunners are believes to have already agreed personal terms with the England international and are preparing to make their opening offer.

Chelsea bought the 23-year-old for £30m from PSV Eindhoven two-and–a-half years ago and, in line with The Telegraph, expect to make a big profit.

Asked concerning the winger’s future ahead of their next Club World Cup match, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca said: ‘Noni has been very essential for us.

‘But my message to the players and to the club is that I need just players which might be joyful to be with us.

”Those that should not joyful, they’re free to go. Noni has been excellent in the course of the season.’

Arsenal have been linked to a variety of wide forwards already this summer with likes of Rodrygo, Eberechi Eze and Nico Williams all on their transfer radar.

The north London club have, meanwhile, finally announced the arrival of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.

The Spain international, 26, moves to the Emirates Stadium on a long-term deal after the Gunners reportedly triggered his £51million release clause.

Euro 2024 winner Zubimendi had previously been a goal for Liverpool and was also linked with Real Madrid.

Zubimendi told the club website: ‘This can be a huge moment in my profession. It’s the move I used to be in search of and one I desired to make. As soon as you set foot here, you realise how big this club and this team are.

‘I set my sights on Arsenal because their variety of play is a superb fit for me. They’ve shown their potential recently and the very best is yet to come back.”

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is confident Zubimendi may help reinforce his midfield options, having seen Thomas Partey’s contract expire and Jorginho also leave the club.

‘Martin is a player who will bring an enormous amount of quality and football intelligence to our team. He’ll slot in rather well and he has all of the attributes to be a key player for us,’ Arteta said.

‘The usual he has consistently performed at over the previous few seasons for each club and country is precisely why we’re so excited to have him with us. All of us welcome Martin and his family to the club.’
