On his official Twitter account, Rhodes made a brand new post. With multiple images of him holding the King of the Ring crown on SmackDown after Night of Champions. He had two words for this post:
“Nightmare King.”
His current moniker is The American Nightmare, but now he’d wish to be called the Nightmare King. He did tag WWE within the post, so could this hint at his desire for them to make use of it? He even used ‘King’ in his bio on Twitter.

Rhodes faced Randy Orton at Night of Champions 2025, and after a hard-hitting bout that saw Rhodes go a bit heel-ish to win, he did secure the pinfall victory. The win at Night of Champions led him to his upcoming match with Cena.
Rhodes To Face Cena On SmackDown
The upcoming episode of SmackDown has not advertised Cena, however the July 18 episode has. Which means that this shall be one other week without the Undisputed WWE Champion. Fans hope that Cena’s promo against Rhodes shall be way more ruthless than their construct for WrestleMania 41.
