The Nacelle Company will make a brand new animated series based on the cult ’90s show “Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa.” The news comes prematurely of San Diego Comic-Con 2025 and is an element of the corporate’s plans to create a shared universe of reimagined toy and animation hits, dubbed the NacelleVerse.
First introduced in 1991 by “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” artist Ryan Brown, “C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa” inspired a toy line, a Saturday morning cartoon on ABC, comic books, and an arcade game. Together with recent toys and a brand new comic, The Nacelle Company is developing a fresh series that may premiere in 2027. This upcoming series shares a connected universe and timeline with two other Nacelle animated reboots: “RoboForce,” executive produced by Brian Volk-Weiss, Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Seven Bucks Productions; and “Biker Mice From Mars,” executive produced by Volk-Weiss, Ryan Reynolds, and Maximum Effort.
The upcoming animated series will comprise eight episodes. Set within the 1800s, the show followed a gaggle of bovine lawmakers, including Marshal Moo Montana, Cowlorado Kid, and Dakota Dude as they served up frontier justice and protect CowTown from crooked Mayor Oscar Bulloney, ruthless Sheriff Terrorbull, and a rogue gallery of outlaw varmints. Other characters from the unique show like Cowlamity Kate, Lily Bovine, Cody Calf will even make an appearance within the reboot.
In step with their approach on “RoboForce” and “Biker Mice From Mars,” which got Johnson and Reynolds involved, The Nacelle Company said it’s currently meeting with several celebrities to hitch the “C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa” revival.
Nacelle, in collaboration with Oni Press, will even be launching “C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa: Origins” in September, a four-issue comic miniseries that may take a look at how the C.O.W.-Boys first teamed up after a mysterious Great Comet “cow-metized” the Western plains. The comic will function a direct prelude to the animated series.
“‘C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa’ is a timeless property that has stuck with fans for over 30 years, and we’re thrilled that we’re reintroducing it to a brand new generation in a giant way,” said Volk-Weiss, who serves as founder and CEO of The Nacelle Company. “This relaunch is all the pieces we love — imaginative, nostalgic, and stuffed with heart — and it’s a key piece of what we’re constructing with the NacelleVerse.”
San Diego Comic-Con attendees will get a sneak peek of what’s what to return by visiting Nacelle at Booth #2547 to grab limited-edition giveaways and get a primary take a look at art from the upcoming comic and animated series. The booth will even feature early prototypes of the brand new “C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa” motion figures.
