MohIt was bizarre, sensational, barely-believable, but a finish worthy of the Test India and England fought for at Lord’s over the past five days.

Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj had stood tall of their partnership for the ultimate wicket within the chase of 193 runs. Jadeja was at 61 (181), taking on a regular basis on this planet, and only counting on one or two runs every over to maintain the scoreboard ticking. Siraj, who has worked on his batting loads, showed flashes of a correct batter for the primary time, offering perfect defense to some good balls from the English bowlers.

All of it crumbled on the fifth ball of the seventy fifth over. Shoaib Bashir, with a fractured non-bowling hand, bowled a large length ball that was the right-hander. Siraj went back to tap it down, and he did it, just under his left foot, however the ball rolled over to the bottom of his stumps and took off the bails.

England players, led by Bashir, went on to have fun the 22-run win as Siraj sat down in agony, with Jadeja in disbelief on the opposite end. Watch all of it here:

It was eerily reminiscent to how Javagal Srinath fell to Saqlain Mushtaq because the last wicket in the course of the famous Chennai Test in 1999 against Pakistan when India needed only 13 runs to win.

“Extremely proud,” Indian captain Shubman Gill said of his team’s efforts. “Five days of hard-fought cricket and it comes right down to the last session, last wicket and tremendously happy with the hassle. I used to be pretty confident (in regards to the chase). With loads of batting left I used to be pretty confident, but the way in which England kept attacking, we desired to have possibly a few 50-run partnerships in our top-order, we weren’t in a position to do this they usually played higher than us… I feel the last one hour (yesterday), we could have applied ourselves a bit higher, especially the last 2 wickets that fell. And even this morning, the way in which they got here out with the plans, we were hoping for one 50-run partnership and if we had gotten one 50-run partnership in the highest order, then things would have been easier for us,” he added.

England now lead the series 2-1 because the caravan moves to Old Trafford for the fourth Test from July 23.
