There was an extended stretch of time where wrestling fans had thought that they had seen the last of CM Punk in a WWE ring. Nonetheless, since his monumental return to the promotion at Survivor Series: War Games, Punk has found himself in the combo with all of today’s top players, including securing the WrestleMania essential event that alluded him his entire profession.
Punk did an interview on “ComicBook Nation” to advertise his upcoming World Heavyweight Championship match with Gunther at SummerSlam. Throughout the chat, he spoke about balancing who he desires to work with in the long run with the inevitable indisputable fact that he doesn’t have a few years left in his wrestling profession.
“Just with the ability to lace my boots and face him is more necessary to me than anything. The goal can be to win and that is the cherry on top, but I’m surrounded day by day by such talented people and I do not think I’ll have the time to have the ability to work with all of them, especially to the extent that I would like to. So, I’m not attempting to do a speed run and share the ring with everybody. But Gunther is on the highest of the list and he’s a man who I have a look at as the long run of the business, Bron Breakker, Chad Gable, Damien Priest, there’s all these guys I have a look at like, oh man I would like to get within the ring with them, and I immediately start cooking up ideas.”
Punk is looking for to secure his first world championship since his return to WWE, and Summerslam will mark his first televised match with Gunther.
