A fan on the Old Trafford Cricket Ground was ‘asked’ to cover his Pakistan cricket jersey-like shirt in the course of the fourth Test between India and England.

Pakistan media identified him as Farooq Nazar. He posted a video on social media that showed a member of the safety staff at the bottom requesting him to cover the shirt, a duplicate of Pakistan’s green limited-overs kit.

“I’ve been asked by control should you can cover that shirt up, please,” a guard may be heard saying within the video. Later, one other steward may be heard saying the shirt ‘could be considered nationalistic’. Nonetheless, visibly upset by the demand, the fan left the bottom as an alternative of following the suggestion

A spokesperson for Lancashire, the county that owns and maintains the stadium, said in an announcement that they were looking into it.

“We’re aware of the incident referenced and are taking steps to grasp the facts and context surrounding the matter fully,” they said.
