Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson have broken their silence on those dating rumors.
The Naked Gun costars, who play love interests within the comedy reboot of the 1988 movie, were asked about their potential budding romance during their appearance on Today on Tuesday, July 29.
“What’s the deal here?” host Craig Melvin asked. “You’re each single without delay. There’s clearly chemistry on display throughout this film. Are you two an item?”
“Craig!” Neeson, 73, responded, as Anderson, 58, asked, “What? I don’t understand the query.”
Neeson explained, “I had never met Pamela before. We met on set. And we discovered we had a beautiful, budding chemistry — as two actors.”
“Yeah,” Anderson agreed.
Neeson continued, “It’s like, ‘Oh, this is good. Let’s not mold this. Let’s just let it breathe.’ And that’s what we did.”
“We’re watching the start of the respiration of a budding relationship,” Melvin, 46, said as Neeson appeared to make a “stirring the pot” gesture along with his hands.
“America’s here for it. We’re here for whatever this turns into,” Melvin added.
Elsewhere within the interview, Neeson gushed about how “great” it was to work alongside Anderson on The Naked Gun.
“Day-after-day was like a joy,” he said.

Anderson and Neeson first sparked romance rumors once they shared PDA on the U.K. premiere of The Naked Gun on July 22. The Taken star wrapped his arm across the Baywatch alum’s waist and leaned down with a smile on his face as she planted a kiss on his cheek. Additionally they held hands as they posed with producer Erica Huggins on the red carpet. In one other sweet moment, Anderson was seen looking up at Neeson with loving eyes as he smiled at something she seemingly told him.
In The Naked Gun, Neeson and Anderson play Detective Frank Drebin Jr. and his love interest, Beth. While promoting the film back in October 2024, Neeson sang his costar’s praises and said that he was “head over heels in love” with Anderson.
“She’s just terrific to work with,” he told People. “I can’t compliment her enough, I’ll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just is available in to do the work. She’s funny and really easy to work with. She’s going to be terrific within the film.”
Meanwhile, Anderson told the outlet that Neeson was a “perfect gentleman” who “sincerely taken care of me,” even “[wrapping] his coat around me after I was cold.”
“He brings out one of the best in you … with respect, kindness and depth of experience. It was an absolute honor to work with him,” she said.
Liam Neeson is single, but don’t anticipate finding him out on dates. Nonetheless, Anderson hinted at their platonic relationship in an interview with Entertainment Weekly earlier this month, saying she’ll have a “eternally friend in Liam.”
Anderson has been married multiple times, most recently to her bodyguard Dan Hayhurst. The pair tied the knot in December 2020, and Us Weekly confirmed they were getting divorced in January 2022. The actress shares two kids, sons Brandon and Dylan, with first husband Tommy Lee, whom she divorced in 1998 after three years of marriage.
Meanwhile, Neeson was married to Natasha Richardson for nearly 15 years before her death at 45 years old in a ski accident in March 2009. The couple shared sons Micheál and Daniel.
The Naked Gun hits theaters on Friday, August 1.
