Nick Cannon has never shied away from talking about his 12 children and today is not any different.
During a recent interview, Cannon, known to many from “Wild N’ Out” and popular movies corresponding to “Drumline,” revealed that after fathering five daughters, his outlook on dating has modified.
Nevertheless, after his comments began going viral on social media, many users chimed in, slamming Nick Cannon for being what they deem a nasty parent.

Nick Cannon Doesn’t Want Daughters To Date People Like Him
While speaking with Extra, Cannon said he wants his daughters to “learn from my mistakes and never date people like their dad.”
“When you will have five daughters and you are like, ‘All right, I not less than wish to give you the option to be true and honest,’ but like I am unable to live the identical life that I’ve all the time been living and try to right my wrongs in that sense of where like hopefully my daughters learn from my mistakes and never date people like their dad,” he said.
For those unfamiliar with Cannon’s family tree, the “Masked Singer” host has 12 children with six different women.
Most know that Cannon has twins, Moroccan and Monroe, together with his ex-wife, singer Mariah Carey. Moreover, he shares three children with Brittany Bell and three with Abby De La Rosa.

The actor and TV personality also has a son with Bre Tiesi and a daughter with LaNisha Cole.
Finally, Cannon has two children with Alyssa Scott, a daughter and a son, who died in 2021 from brain cancer.

Fans Respond To Cannon’s Hopes For His Daughters
On Reddit, many users voiced their frustration with Cannon for sharing what they imagine to be an inappropriate statement together with his young daughters.
“So, his message is: ‘Don’t grow as much as be like your mother?'” a user wrote.
A second also chimed in and posted, “Has he even learned from his mistakes? Cannon also has sons, is not [it] vital they do not make those mistakes?”
“Let’s be gender neutral here and go, ‘Don’t date around and have 13 kids with different people’ or something,” a distinct user quipped.
Another person jumped into the conversation to suggest Cannon begin modeling the behavior he’d like his children to mimic.

“A greater place to begin can be to behave just like the form of man you would like to see your daughter’s date,” they shared. “He’d slightly just pass the buck and put the onus on everyone else to behave higher than him.”

The Negative Feedback For Cannon Continues

And the negative comments directed at Cannon didn’t end there. A user questioned whether Cannon was “done having kids” so he may very well be “an lively father [who has] learned from his mistakes yet.”
“If by mistakes, does he mean the thing he continues to maintain doing to recent women?” another person commented.
One other wrote, “In fact, he says that. It’s what deadbeat dads do to earn the grace of his peers after abandoning his children.”

In a previous interview, Cannon shared more about his decision to have multiple children. “You recognize, Black men, we all the time be like, ‘What’s up, king?’” he said, “I actually think I’m the king.”
When the interviewer asked Cannon whether he could name all 12 of his children, Cannon said, “I often get in trouble,” as he struggled to state all of them.
Despite that, Cannon also revealed in March 2025 that he wasn’t done having children just yet, adding that he wanted to go away that to God.
“God decides once we’re done, but I imagine I definitely got my hands full,” he said.
The “Roll Bounce” actor even threw a joke in there, saying, “After I’m 85, you never know. I may need [more].”

Nick Cannon Insured His Jewels For $10 Million

Cannon has also opened up up to now about his decision to insure his testicles for $10 million.
“Haters say it’s time for me to stop having kids and put this super sperm to rest, but I’m doubling down on these beneficial balls and my future kids,” Cannon said.
