24-year-old wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel will captain the Central Zone team within the 2025 edition of the Duleep Trophy, which is about to be played from August 28 to September 11 in Bengaluru.
In line with several media reports, Jurel, who has played five Tests for India to this point and won all, will captain the team that features the likes of Rajat Patidar, Kuldeep Yadav, Deepak Chahar, Harsh Dubey, Khaleel Ahmed and Saransh Jain, amongst others.

India’s Test captain Shubman Gill may also play within the Duleep Trophy 2025, and the right-handed batter from Punjab will lead the North Zone. Other than Gill, Anshul Kamboj, Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana are also picked within the North Zone’s squad.
Within the Duleep Trophy 2025, North Zone will open their campaign on August 28 in Bengaluru against the Ishan Kishan-led East Zone team, and the winner will then qualify for the semifinal.
