Pop superstar Katy Perry is facing fresh backlash from Chart Westcott, the son of the ailing veteran, Carl Westcott, amid her ongoing property dispute with the family.
Perry is searching for roughly $6 million in damages from the elder Westcott, alleging structural defects, deferred maintenance, and lost rental income through the years the home was tied up in litigation.

In August 2020, Perry purchased Westcott’s Montecito mansion for $15 million, however the U.S. Army veteran later took the singer to court, claiming he had been heavily medicated and never of sound mind when signing the contract.

OK, that is who we’re coping with here,” Chart told the outlet. “There isn’t any argument to justify what’s happening here from an ethical perspective, like that is the exploitation of a person whose mind and body are mainly shutting down, and he’s being dragged into court.”

The trial over the matter is about to start on August 21, with each Chart and Perry expected to testify.

He added, “She’s never needed to grow up, and so she doesn’t realize, I’m not giving her, I’m not excusing her, but like I do not think she fully understands the moral consequences of her actions, like she’s not fully developed from an ethical perspective.”
