Heretic + Hexen Gets a Definitive Re-Release

Last 12 months, classic DOOM and DOOM II received enhanced versions, and this 12 months Heretic + Hexen got an identical treatment. This definitive re-release, developed by id Software and Nightdive Studios, brings the mid-Nineties classics into the trendy era. Raven Software created the unique Heretic and Hexen using a modified DOOM engine, introducing inventory systems, vertical aiming, and character classes to the first-person shooter genre.

The Heretic + Hexen package includes Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders, Hexen: Beyond Heretic, Hexen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel, and two all-new episodes—Heretic: Faith Renewed and Hexen: Vestiges of Grandeur—that were created in collaboration between individuals at id Software and Nightdive Studios. In total, players get access to 117 campaign maps and 120 deathmatch maps.

Enhancements include online cross-platform deathmatch and co-op for as much as 16 players; local split-screen modes for as much as eight players; community mod support; accessibility options; widescreen and multilanguage support; and more. All titles within the package may be enjoyed at as much as 4K resolution and 120 FPS.
