Indian batter Rajat Patidar recently handled a situation that involved a few cricket fans in Chhattisgarh and the local police. The involvement of the cops might make it sound serious, but it surely’s nothing of that kind.
The story revolves around Patidar’s old mobile number, which was deactivated by the telecom company for being inactive for over 90 days. It was reassigned to a boy named Manish in Chhattisgarh’s Gariaband district, resulting in hilarious events.
In response to NDTV, Manish bought a brand new Reliance Jio SIM from a neighborhood mobile shop on June 28, but what unfolded next was somewhat surprising. After the mobile number was activated, WhatsApp loaded Patidar’s photo because the profile picture. Manish and his friend, Khemraj, didn’t pay heed to it, but that they had simply landed on the VIP contact list of India’s cricketing fraternity.
Now Manish’s phone began ringing, and the callers were cricketing legends. The report stated that even Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers called up on the number. But Manish and Khemraj still took it humorously, until Patidar called up himself and explained the matter.
“Bhai, I’m Rajat Patidar. That number is mine, please return it,” the cricketer, as per NDTV, said on the decision.
What happened next was more comic. Manish and Khemraj didn’t consider that it was Patidar on the road as they replied, “And we’re MS Dhoni.”
Patidar had no option but to clarify your entire matter. He said the number was vital, connecting him together with his coaches, friends, and others. Nevertheless, these two weren’t able to buy the story. That’s when the Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper said, “Okay, I’ll send the cops.”
The local police were at Manish’s doorstep inside 10 minutes, after which he realised that whatever happened wasn’t a joke. Thus, they ended up talking to Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, but never had the thought.
“I got to talk to Kohli due to a mistaken number. My life’s goal is complete,” Khemraj was quoted as saying.
Each friends returned the SIM card without hesitation.
