The One-Day Cup has turn out to be synonymous with the blooding of recent talent and Leicestershire’s fast bowler Alex Green, is on the forefront of English cricket’s next generation.
Last Wednesday, 18-year-old Green, took his third five-wicket haul of a remarkable campaign, in a dramatic tied game against Derbyshire.
Green’s wicket taking feats began just a few weeks ago at Guildford, against a Surrey team who’ve underwhelmed within the fifty-over format. His contribution of 5-25, which dismantled the Surrey middle order, led to a clinical six-wicket win, with 20.3 overs still remaining.
