Amaal Mallik Opens Up On Losing Projects

When asked about his break from work, losing projects, Amaal Mallik recalled, “Haan, mujhe jab-jab meri koi film se nikala gaya ya mujhe laga ki yeh mera vibe nahi hai, toh foremost khud break le leta hoon. Mujhe 2–3 bade projects se nikala bhi gaya hai. Lekin foremost is baat ko zyada seriously nahi leta. Kyunki mere liye sabse vital hai ki log mere music ko apne dil aur playlist mein jagah dete hain. Logo ko yeh pata hona chahiye ki kaun music bana raha hai—that is Amaal Mallik, not Armaan Malik, not Aditya Roy Kapoor.”

He added, “Kabhi foremost beanie pehenta hoon toh log confuse ho jaate hain. They know my heart, but they don’t know my habits, my vibe, foremost kya sochta hoon. Media mein jo hum dikhate hain aur jo convert hota hai, uska ek alag roop aa jaata hai. Shayad foremost bhi 23 saal ki umar mein successful ho gaya, toh mujhe woh subtlety ya diplomacy kehne ki aadat develop nahi hui. Most important abhi bhi directly bolta hoon, non-aggressively but directly.”
