This yr’s annual Evening from the Heart LA gala, which celebrates John Ritter‘s legacy and the continuing work of the John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health, will feature a one-night-only staged live celebrity read from “Three’s Company.” Free streaming service Pluto TV is ready because the exclusive media partner, hosting the on-demand release. The gala is ready for Sept. 12 on the Sunset Room in Hollywood.
The read shall be of “Going to Pot,” the classic Season 7 episode of “Three’s Company,” which aired in 1983. The performance will feature Kaley Cuoco, Adam Devine and Jason Alexander, together with original solid members Priscilla Barnes and Richard Kline reprising their roles as Terri Alden and Larry Dallas, respectively. Filmmaker Dennis Dugan will direct, with stage directions being read by Tom Bergeron.
Pluto TV, which has long featured a linear channel dedicated to 24/7 episodes of “Three’s Company,” will air a curated marathon of “Three’s Company” episodes in Ritter’s honor.
The gala raises awareness and funds for aortic health research and patient support, celebrating Ritter’s legacy and bringing together supporters, physicians, and advocates.
“This event is a celebration of John’s life and the community that has grown around his memory,” said Amy Yasbeck, founding father of The John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health. “We’re grateful to Pluto TV for helping us extend the reach of this performance and amplify our mission to save lots of lives through awareness and research.”
Ritter, who appeared in 172 episodes of “Three’s Company” from 1977 to 1984, died in September 2003. While first assumed to be suffering a heart attack, it was later revealed to be aortic dissection. He was filming “8 Easy Rules” on the time of his death, alongside Cuoco, a series regular within the sitcom playing his daughter.
While tickets for the gala are sold out, fans can stream the live read online via The John Ritter Foundation website; it should be available on demand exclusively on Pluto TV at a later date.
