It was a difficult night on the office for one UFC veteran and former Bellator champion at Dirty Boxing 3.
The third event placed on by the Dirty Boxing Championship took place Friday night in Miami, Florida. The promotion was founded by BKFC star Mike Perry and is co-owned by UFC GOAT contender Jon Jones.
11 fighters who formerly competed on mixed martial arts’ biggest stage took to the ring at The Hangar at Regatta Harbour, where plenty of finishes and memorable moments took place. That included Jairzinho Rozenstruik’s brutal finish within the fundamental event and a bizarre brawl between a fighter and Dirty Boxing security guard.
The quickest finish of the night got here within the co-headliner, which saw the most recent combat sports outing for 49-fight MMA vet Hector Lombard. Many have called for the 47-year-old Cuban to retire, and people pleas have only gotten louder after what happened on August 29.
Hector Lombard immediately finished by fighter with a losing record at Dirty Boxing 3
The last time Lombard was in motion, the ex-Bellator middleweight champion was throwing pillows as a substitute of fists.
A few years on from his last mixed martial arts outing, which was a victory under the banner of Jorge Masvidal’s Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA, Lombard beat Cheick Kongo at Pillow Fight Championship.
The Cuban star was given a rude welcome back to actual fighting, as 9-10 MMA pro James Cannon upset the chances to complete him in brutal fashion after just 19 seconds at DBX 3.
Lombard and Cannon immediately swung wild haymakers at each other, and it was the latter who connected cleanly first. After ‘Lightning’ was stunned and struggled to remain on his feet, a number of hard shots briefly faceplanted Lombard and resulted within the referee stepping in.
