Thomas Frank says he understands Tottenham fans who booed the team within the 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday.

Frank has now suffered his first Premier League defeat accountable for Spurs as Evanilson’s goal within the fifth minute was enough to secure the victory.

Spurs struggled to create possibilities throughout the sport and registered only one shot heading in the right direction.

Boos were heard at each half time and full time on the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Frank admits his side didn’t ‘hit the extent we must always’.

‘I would favor them to not boo,’ Frank said when asked concerning the response from Spurs supporters.

‘But I understand it was not an excellent performance today and so they have high expectations which is completely fair.

‘I believe, let’s say we’ve performed even higher and we still lose the football match, today I don’t feel like we hit the extent we must always.

‘I believe the players gave all the pieces, I believe that’s their foundation, they put their heart on the market but football-wise we didn’t hit our top level today.’

Frank added: ‘I believe it’s fair to say we didn’t defend in addition to we must always do and we’ve done in the primary three days, that I’m quite confident we’ll come back to defend well again.

‘I’d say the creativity, that’s why we signed Simons to have an additional offensive player.

‘But I also think on the day, with all due respect to our front 4 players, none of them hit a high level, and that happens sometimes.

‘I don’t need to say it’s okay nevertheless it’s natural.’

Asked what Simons can bring to his Spurs side, Frank replied: ‘I believe he can bring on a day where our structure increase and all that, it’s not only about all that, then sometimes you wish a player who can do somewhat bit out of nothing – go past a player, produce a cross, a shot, that extra quality you wish on the day.’
