Teddy Sheringham believes Alejandro Garnacho was fallacious to shut the door on his time at Manchester United and move to Chelsea in the summertime.
Garnacho broke into United’s first team in 2022 under Erik ten Hag and went on to change into a key player for the Red Devils.
Nonetheless, the Argentine winger saw his United journey end on a sour note after a falling out with Ruben Amorim saw him deemed surplus to requirments at Old Trafford.
And Premier League rivals Chelsea then swooped to finish a cut-price deal to sign Garnacho for £40million.
The 21-year-old is yet to get off the mark in a Blue shirt but has shown glimpses of his potential, particularly against Jose Mourinho’s Benfica within the Champions League.

But despite that, Sherringham is uncertain whether Garnacho will make successful of his move to Stamford Bridge, and said he would have advised the winger to attempt to revive his fortunes at United somewhat than seek a move away.
‘I feel Alejandro Garnacho is a really talented player, but only time will tell whether he’s capable of be successful at Chelsea,’ the previous United and England striker told Coin Poker.

‘He may have been disenchanted to not get off the bench in the sport at Old Trafford. He made a giant move in leaving Manchester United for Chelsea, and it’s not one I might have advised him to make if I were a component of his team.
‘Whenever you’re at United you will have to try your utmost to make it work.
‘It’s the largest club on this planet, so that you won’t be leaving for a greater club, and the chance to come back back won’t be there, especially with the style during which he left and the way in which the fans have reacted to it.’

Garnacho, meanwhile, has not spoken at length about his United departure, but has suggested that his final few months on the club were ‘difficult’.
‘I feel it was a difficult moment there, just training alone,’ he told TNT Sports earlier this month.
‘But I actually have nothing bad to say concerning the club, my old club Manchester United.
‘It was just a nasty moment in life but now I’m very pleased to be here.’
Garnacho was not called up by Argentina over the international break, but is predicted to return to motion when Chelsea visit Nottingham Forest next Saturday.
