Quite a lot of people have been injured in Berlin after an explosion went off at a block of flats causing a hearth, it’s reported.
At the least one person was said to be seriously hurt within the incident, which happened in Neukölln around 3.30am this morning.
Several others were taken to hospital with minor injuries, including smoke inhalation.
The explosion went off on the bottom floor of the constructing, reports Berliner Zeitung, and the hearth broke out shortly after, spreading quickly.
A lot of fire engines and ambulances were deployed, the news site said, with 45 people treated on site for minor injuries.
Fifteen of those were taken to hospital for further checks and treatment.

While firefighters were working on the constructing several more explosions occurred, causing window panes to shatter.
Police said they don’t yet know the explanation for the explosion, and said a deliberate act couldn’t be ruled out.
Residents reported hearing a loud bang after which seeing heavy smoke.
The fireplace has now been extinguished, according Berliner Zeitung.
