A British woman, 72, has died after her automobile collided head-on with a motorhome in Alicante, Spain.
The collision happened at about 2pm on Tuesday on the N-332 road within the Santa Pola area.
Spanish authorities consider the automobile the girl was driving went on to the alternative carriageway and struck the motorhome.
The girl, an expat who lived on the Orihuela Costa, died almost immediately. Firefighters freed her from the automobile but paramedics were unable to save lots of her.
A Belgian man, 54, was driving the motorhome on the time of the collision. He was taken to hospital after sustaining serious injuries – nonetheless his wife was unharmed.
The crash caused significant traffic jams on the N-332, which lasted until around 5.30pm
The N-332 has been dubbed the ‘road of death’ by locals after a series of crashes within the accident blackspot.
The highway has among the highest accident statistics within the Santa Pola region largely on account of cars attempting to overtake with poor visibility.
