AEW’s Jeff Jarrett has addressed who chosen WWE Hall of Fame inductees during Vince McMahon’s tenure and in addition shared his views on criticism that there is no such thing as a physical Hall of Fame.
Jarrett, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018, has revealed in a recent edition of his “My World” podcast that Vince McMahon was the only person liable for Hall of Fame inductions.
“I have not worked there for a few years, but you realize, at the top of the day, it was a VKM [McMahon] decision. The buck — like the whole lot in that organization — stopped with him. Period,” he stated. “Whoever Vince desired to go in, went in. Whoever Vince didn’t need to go in, didn’t go in. That’s what it’s, since it’s called the WWE Hall of Fame. That’s the fact. Identical to TNA when Dixie owned it, at the top of the day, it was her sole decision. Look, everybody takes feedback, advice, and suggestions, and all of that, but that is the way it’s done. There wasn’t a ‘voting’ process.”
Lately, many have questioned WWE for not having a physical Hall of Fame. While Jarrett believes it isn’t crucial, he thinks it is going to eventually occur.
“I feel in due time, there could also be a physical Hall of Fame,” he said. “I feel it’ll be very cool because, you realize, at Mania they do those sorts of things. While you form of see that Axxess, that yr I went in and so they said, ‘Hey man, are you able to bring a hat and old tights and boots and form of make an exhibit out of it?’ I feel there’s loads of monetization in it, and I’ve thought that an extended time.”
There’s been talk that a physical Hall of Fame might be built, with Jim Ross and Eric Bischoff claiming it is going to be in Orlando, Florida.
