Kobbie Mainoo can have to confront Ruben Amorim to seek out out exactly why he is just not getting minutes this season, in response to former Manchester United defender Wes Brown.

Mainoo, 20, has not began any of United’s seven Premier League matches along with his only starting role coming against Grimsby Town within the Carabao Cup.

The midfielder has racked up just 112 minutes of playing break day the bench having been told by the manager he’s in direct competition with Bruno Fernandes for one in all Amorim’s two midfield roles.

Mainoo attempted to depart United on loan before the summer transfer window closed, desirous to ensure he’s within the running for a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s squad when England fly out for the World Cup next summer.

A loan move will certainly be revisited should the situation not change before January. But within the meantime, Brown believes Mainoo will feel he’s owed some answers.

‘Kobbie will need to play,’ Brown told Metro courtesy of FreeBets.com, the house of the perfect betting sites.

‘There’s something occurring where he is just not getting starts, not getting game time. But Kobbie is a really talented young player and he must play football at his age. And internationally as well. So he might be very disenchanted with how the season has gone.

‘I just hope the manager and him are speaking, in a way of [finding out] what the manager wants from him and what he needs more of because Kobbie is a young talented guy and wishes to be playing more and hopefully that an occur.

‘He might be probably be pondering “I don’t know what’s next.” There may be a World Cup coming up in the summertime and he’ll need to be a part of that but he might want to play football. It should be a troublesome one and I’m undecided what happens from here, the one thing I can say, does he speaks to the manager to get more information [on] what he wants from him? That’s probably the surprise of this season for everybody that he has not managed to get a start.’

‘It should be frustrating for him. Very frustrating, He’ll consider he ought to be on the pitch for longer but this may occur in every team. I feel it’s the way you handle it, the way you get on with it to be sure the manager notices that as well.’

So as to add to Mainoo’s frustrations, Amorim has seldom looked to him first when making changes. As United chased an equaliser on the opening day of the season against Arsenal, Manuel Ugarte got here on ahead of him with Amorim again turning to the Uruguay international the next week against Fulham.

It was only after losing Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount to injury against Burnley did Mainoo finally get some Premier League minutes at the top of August.

Danny Simpson, one other graduate of the United academy, believes it’s a worrying pattern and believes the situation will only have one end result with the England star leaving Old Trafford in January.

‘Amorim seems pretty set on Bruno and Casemiro because the important two in the intervening time, however it looks like Ugarte is the subsequent player to come back on,’ Simpson told Metro via MyBettingSites.com.

‘There have been times where I feel Kobbie’s played higher than Ugarte once they’ve each been on the pitch but he’s still not getting those possibilities over him.

‘That should be frustrating if you’re not only the subsequent sub, you’re the subsequent sub after that sub. Certainly one of them never gets subbed by the way in which, which is Bruno, so that you’re looking and pondering, “I’m not going to get on unless there are injuries” and also you don’t need to wish injury on any of your teammates.

‘So I feel he’s probably going to need to get a loan move because he needs football. Whilst an asset to Man United, he needs to enhance his game, he must be playing football. He’s too young to only be sat doing nothing. He’s one in all our local players and he may very well be value as much as £80-90 million.

‘He’s going to must get football if he’s not going to play under the manager. And if the manager looks like he’s staying, then I feel the club are going to must make a call, not the manager, to let him go.’
