Alejandro Garnacho believes Chelsea would have beaten Manchester United at Old Trafford if Robert Sanchez had not been sent off early on.
Chelsea suffered a 2-1 defeat to United last month in a game where they were reduced to 10 men following Sanchez’s red card within the fifth minute.
Casemiro was sent off for United in first half injury time but Chelsea were unable to get well from going two goals down within the opening 45 minutes.
Enzo Maresca’s side are actually seeking to construct on their 2-1 win against Liverpool before the international break as they travel to Nottingham Forest in Saturday’s early kick-off.
Garnacho, who joined Stamford Bridge in a £40 million deal from United in the summertime transfer window, believes Chelsea have suffered ‘bad luck’ with red cards this season and is confident his recent side can challenge for trophies.

‘They could not have been winning games but they’ve good players and can need to win. We now have to be ready.
‘We’re in a very good position within the league [five points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal], especially after we had slightly little bit of bad luck with red cards.
‘For instance, the sport against Brighton, we should always win that game. And the sport at United, if we play 11 against 11, I feel we could be on top.
‘But we’re okay. I feel it’s essential to construct from the last win against Liverpool and check out to win again to be up there.
‘I feel now we have a team that may fight within the league and for the remaining of the trophies, and we wish to attempt to win not less than one trophy. Due to the moment of the team, of the club, I feel we will fight for the massive trophies. It’s the dream now we have.’
