Claude just got a skill upgrade and it’s coming in your workflows – Computerworld

Users may customize skills for specific use cases, and create, view, and upgrade different versions through the Claude Console. Skills are portable and have the identical format across workflows, meaning users only need to create them once.

To construct custom Skills, users must provide a “human-friendly” name (as an example, “brand guidelines”); a transparent description of what the Skill should do and when to make use of it (comparable to, “apply brand guidelines to presentations and documents, including official colours, fonts, and logo usage”), and specify when Claude should reference it (for instance, each time creating external materials comparable to Word documents, marketing materials, client reports, or presentations that represent the corporate).

Developers can point the agent to resource folders containing all relevant materials comparable to document templates, and indicate any required software packages (like Python or Pandas), if essential.
