Electronic Arts made headlines last month after reaching an agreement to go private following a $55 billion buyout. While it stays to be seen what effect the buyout could have on the corporate, a recent announcement is perhaps an indication of things to come back. Yesterday, The Sims Mobile team confirmed the sport will shut down on January 20, 2026, at 5:59 AM Pacific (8:59 AM Eastern). The sport has existed for seven years and has received over 50 updates, but unfortunately, it has reached the tip of the road.
From now until the sport shuts down, events in The Sims Mobile will proceed to run as usual, allowing players to earn Simoleons and items in the course of the final months. Any purchases made before today will still work in the sport until January 20, 2026. After that date, the sport will not be playable, and any leftover currency is not going to be eligible for a refund. Since The Sims Mobile requires online servers to play, nobody will have the opportunity to access the sport after 5:59 AM Pacific on January 20, 2026.
The team rolled out the ultimate update for The Sims Mobile today, which removes microtransactions from the sport. As well as, everyone receives unlimited energy in order that they can benefit from the remaining time. Tomorrow, October 21, the sport will likely be delisted from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store at 5:30 AM Pacific (8:30 AM Eastern). Once that happens, it is going to not be available for brand spanking new downloads. Players who have already got the sport installed or previously downloaded it could possibly still update or re-download it.
On January 6, two weeks before the sport officially shuts down, all Construct Mode and Create A Sim (CAS) items will unlock for each player. None of those items will likely be limited by levels, so all the pieces will likely be available for all players. The team wants to present everyone the chance to construct their dream home, design their perfect Sims, and experience all the pieces The Sims Mobile has to supply before the servers officially close.
