UFC contender Arnold Allen has told of how he was attacked on the streets of Montreal attributable to his inability to talk French.
The British featherweight, who most recently defeated Giga Chikadze, has been out of motion for over a 12 months. He recently travelled to Canada to coach for ‘something’, where he encountered violence from quite a few attackers.
Allen is currently ranked number six within the division, even after such a lengthy period of inactivity. His only two octagon defeats got here by the hands of the unbeaten Movsar Evloev and the legendary former champion Max Holloway.

Arnold Allen details street attack in Canada over language barrier
While he spends a while away from the octagon, Arnold Allen has taken to YouTube where he makes social media content for his 35,000 followers generally centering around fighting. He uploaded a video today where he previews Tom Aspinall vs Ciryl Gane, but had to deal with the elephant within the room early.
He was clearly badly marked, seemingly far worse than he tends to be from fighting or hard sparring. And he noted that it was attributable to an incident on the streets of Montreal where he was beaten up for being unable to talk French.
“I’m in Montreal currently, training for stuff and I got beat up on the street because I wasn’t using French,” he told his viewers. “I got jumped because I didn’t speak French. That’s what the bruises are all about, don’t worry about it.”
He quickly moved on to talking concerning the UFC 321 card, which takes place in Abu Dhabi on Saturday night and features three of his fellow Brits.
