NZ vs ENG 2025: Kyle Jamieson Withdraws From ODI Series Due To Body Stiffness

Kyle Jamieson has been ruled out of Recent Zealand’s three-match ODI series against England on account of stiffness on his left side. The experienced right-arm pacer, who featured within the T20I leg of the tour, experienced discomfort ahead of the opening ODI in Mount Maunganui.

The difficulty arose during training on Saturday, October 25, and Jamieson is predicted to return to Christchurch for further evaluation. The aim is to have him ready for Recent Zealand’s multi-format series against the West Indies in November and December. Recent Zealand head coach Rob Walter confirmed that a alternative might be named soon.

He explained Jamieson’s absence from the 50-over squad by stating that the management didn’t wish to risk playing him while he was recovering.

“Kyle experienced some stiffness in his side after bowling today (Saturday) and we didn’t wish to take any risks at this stage of the summer. We felt it was best for him to sit down out this one-day series and provides himself the most effective probability of being ready for the West Indies tour which starts on November 5 in Auckland,” stated Walter, as quoted by Cricbuzz.

Jamieson Out Of NZ-England ODIs; England Lead T20I Series 1-0

Prior to the 2 T20Is against England and the one against Australia, Kyle Jamieson featured for Punjab Kings within the Indian Premier League, taking five wickets in 4 matches while maintaining an economy rate of 9.80. On the international front, Jamieson has represented Recent Zealand in 17 ODIs, 18 T20Is, and 19 Tests since making his debut against India in 2020.

He has yet to say a five-wicket haul in white-ball cricket, and his recent injury setback will delay that milestone further. England, meanwhile, head into the ODI series after winning the T20I series 1-0, with the primary and third matches being washed out after just 20 and three.4 overs, respectively. The ODIs are scheduled for October 26, October 29, and November 1.
