Cody Rhodes can have retained the WWE Championship at Saturday Night’s Foremost Event, but his win has been met with a number of backlash from fans.
On YouTube, WWE’s highlight video of Rhodes’ win over Drew McIntyre has 15,000 dislikes, almost double the variety of likes the video has.
Rhodes retained the title against McIntyre after hitting a DDT onto the WWE Championship title when the referee was incapacitated before getting the win.
This loss is the newest dirty defeat for McIntyre, who got here up short in World Title matches resulting from interference at Clash At The Castle 2022 and the Glasgow sequel in 2024.
Rhodes regained the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam 2025. He retained against McIntyre on the WWE Wrestlepalooza pay-per-view event in September.
