India defeated South Africa in an exhilarating ICC Women’s World Cup final, clinching their maiden title. Batting first, India scored 298 for 7 — the second-highest total in World Cup history — and bowled South Africa out for 246 in 45.3 overs. With this, India joined Australia, England, and Latest Zealand because the only teams to have won the trophy.

While social media was abuzz with heartfelt messages for the Women in Blue, Jemimah Rodrigues took to her official Instagram handle to share some beautiful pictures with the World Cup trophy.

“Good morning world,” she wrote, posting an image with Smriti Mandhana holding the trophy.

In one other post, she shared an image with Radha Yadav and Arundhati Reddy, who joined them in flaunting the silverware.

“Are we still dreaming?” Rodrigues wrote.

India’s wait for World Cup glory finally led to Navi Mumbai as Harmanpreet Kaur’s spirited team lifted the ICC Women’s World Cup for the primary time. The triumph was the culmination of years of heartbreaks and near-misses, marking a brand new dawn for ladies’s cricket in India.

Shafali Verma, recalled after Pratika Rawal’s injury, shone brightest with a stunning 87 and two crucial wickets, turning the ultimate into her stage of redemption. Deepti Sharma, ever-reliable, complemented her perfectly with a composed fifty and a five-wicket haul, earning the Player of the Final honour.
