The UFC has decided to chop ties with featherweight prospect who was dominated in round one this past Saturday.
On Saturday, the premier promotion returned to the UFC Apex for UFC Vegas 110, headlined by featherweight prospects Steve Garcia and David Onama.
The event was once more clouded in several controversies, because the co-main event involved one other eye poke situation, which led to a brutal knockout.
And the featherweight fight between Isaac Dulgarian and Yadier Del Valle on the predominant card left fans suspicious.
UFC cut Dulgarian from the promotion following loss
When Dulgarian was signed to the promotion in 2023, he got here in as a prospect to look at due to his high-level wrestling credentials.
In his debut fight, the 29-year-old scored a brutal knockout win over Francis Marshall, announcing himself to the UFC fans in an emphatic way.
A couple of months later, though, he was handed his first ever loss when he was on the incorrect end of a split decision against Christian Rodriguez.
And after bouncing back with a win last September, ‘The Midwest Choppa’ returned this past Saturday, taking up Cuban prospect, Del Valle.
Dulgarian opened up as a moderate favorite within the fight, up until a number of hours before the event when big money began pouring in on Del Valle.
The movement immediately made fans suspicious, as they wondered if Dulgarian can be going into the fight compromised. The American wrestler went on to be submitted in the primary round, only adding to fans’ suspicions.
Having won two and lost two in his 4 UFC outings, this past Sunday, the promotion opted to chop Dulgarian, stating his loss as the rationale why.
UFC analyst slammed Dulgarian’s performance
Ultimately, Dulgarian’s performance left so much to be desired, especially considering his dominance within the wrestling and grappling department of a fight.
And his performance didn’t sit well with UFC analyst and former fighter, Michael Chiesa, who utterly blasted the 29-year-old labeling his performance ‘absolute trash’.
As of now, it’s uncertain what Dulgarian’s future holds and only time will tell.
