Karnataka romped to a dominant win over Kerala of their Ranji Trophy Elite Group B fixture on Tuesday, riding on Mohsin Khan’s six-fer because the victors posted a win by an innings and 164 runs.
Kerala were bundled out for 184 while following on as Mohsin, blitzed through their batting line-up with Karnataka completing a bonus-point victory on the ultimate day of the match on the KCA Cricket Ground.
Kerala entered the ultimate day with the follow-on enforced, trailing Karnataka by 338 runs within the second innings after Karnataka had declared at 585/5. Vidwath Kaverappa swiftly removed opener Nidheesh MD (9) and No. 3 Akshay Chandran (0), adding to the house side’s troubles, while Mohsin Khan began by dismissing Krishna Prasad for 33. The left-arm spinner dominated the Kerala batters, delivering over half of his 23.3 overs as maidens.
Karnataka, having bowled out Kerala for 238 in the primary innings, secured seven points with their first win of the season after the primary two matches led to draws. India batter Karun Nair, who scored 233 for Karnataka, was named player of the match.
In Indore, hosts Madhya Pradesh earned three points based on their first-innings lead as their match against Chandigarh led to a draw. Madhya Pradesh was 73/3 with an overall lead of 147 runs when stumps were drawn, after taking a 74-run lead in the primary innings.
Visitors Goa were satisfied with three points on the premise of their first-innings lead against hosts Punjab on the PCA Latest Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh. Punjab reached 179 for 4 with Nehal Wadhera batting on 55 and Ramandeep Singh on 36 not out when the match concluded. Punjab had conceded a lead of 171 runs after scoring 325 in response to Goa’s 494/6 declared.
Meanwhile, on the Golf Club Ground in Nashik, the sport between Maharashtra and Saurashtra led to a draw, with the hosts reaching 55/1 of their first innings. Saurashtra declared their first innings at 394/5, with centuries from Harvik Desai (132) and Jay Gohil (115).

At Chandigarh: Punjab 325 and 179/4; 63 overs (Harnoor Singh 49, Nehal Wadhera 55 not out, Ramandeep Singh 36 not out; Darshan Misal 2/57) drew with Goa 494/6 declared.
At Nashik: Saurashtra 394/5 declared; 101 overs (Harvik Desai 132, Jay Gohil 115, Arpit Vasavada 73 not out; Mukesh Choudhary 2/96) drew with Maharashtra 55/1; 10 overs (Arshin Kulkarni 35 not out; Hiten Kanbi 1/6).
