Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis’ planned super-fight has been called off with just days to go until fight night.
Controversial YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul was because of face lightweight champion and pound-for-pound great Davis in a bout that pitted elite skill against a 60lb+ weight difference. Nonetheless, Netflix have pulled the plug on the competition.
No official reason has been given by Netflix or Most Useful Promotions for the cancellation this evening with just 11 days to go until the fight. Nonetheless, it follows Most Useful Promotions’ statement that they were investigating accusations leading from a recent civil trial against Davis.

Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis officially cancelled
Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis weren’t quoted in an announcement released by Most Useful Promotions and Netflix tonight. Nonetheless, just moments before media were made aware of the choice, Paul tweeted: “God has a plan. At all times.”
“Most Useful Promotions and Netflix have announced that Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis, originally scheduled for Friday, November 14 on the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, will now not be moving forward,” an announcement read.
“Our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate this case responsibly,” Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of Most Useful Promotions, was quoted as saying. “While we is not going to be moving forward with this event, our plan still stays for Jake Paul to headline an event on Netflix in 2025.
“Details regarding a brand new date, location, Jake’s opponent, and extra bouts shall be shared as soon as they’re finalized. We thank Netflix, the Kaseya Center, and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for his or her partnership.”
The statement continued: “Most Useful Promotions appreciates the continued support and understanding of our athletes, partners, sponsors, and fans as we work to finalize updated event plans.
“Fans who purchased tickets via Ticketmaster for the Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis event will get an automatic refund through their original point of purchase inside 14-21 days. Fans who purchased through secondary markets should contact them. For ticket assistance, please contact Ticketoffice@heat.com.
“MVP thanks everyone for his or her patience and appears forward to delivering a unprecedented boxing event in 2025, live globally only on Netflix.”
Jake Paul will fight again in 2025
Unlike when last 12 months’s clash between Paul and Mike Tyson was temporarily called off because of health issues for the legendary heavyweight – this cancellation appears everlasting. Back then, the YouTuber opted to not waste his training camp and arranged a short-notice fight with Mike Perry.
Nonetheless, Netflix didn’t approve the opponent and he needed to make the switch to DAZN pay-per-view. This time around, Paul’s insistence that he’ll fight this 12 months is being backed by Netflix, meaning he’s prone to tackle an A-List name.
His current shortlist has reportedly included Terence Crawford, Francis Ngannou, Nate Diaz, Ryan Garcia and most recently Andre Ward. Ngannou and Garcia have each ultimately been publicly distanced from the fight, and Diaz appears to even be a no go given their lacklustre first fight.
