Here’s a take a look at the entire list of changes in Team India for the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa from the last series played against the West Indies.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to X on Wednesday (November 5) to announce India’s squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa. Within the team picked for the house series starting November 14 in Kolkata, Rishabh Pant is back. Pant, who’s India’s first-choice wicketkeeper-batter within the five-day format of the sport, missed the two-match Test series against the West Indies last month together with the fifth Test against England at The Oval as a consequence of a foot injury that he suffered on Day 1 of the fourth India-England Test at Old Trafford in Manchester.

Together with him, yet another player is back within the squad, whereas as many as two players, who were a part of the Test squad against the West Indies, have been neglected.

IN: Rishabh Pant is back within the Test team after being on the sidelines for greater than three months as a consequence of a foot injury. In the house series against South Africa, he will likely be Shubman Gill’s deputy and is all set to play as a first-choice wicketkeeper-batter. Along with Pant, pacer Akash Deep can be back for the house series. Akash last played a Test match against England at The Oval from July 31 to August 4, after which he also suffered an injury which kept him out of motion for a few months.

OUT: Narayan Jagadeesan and Prasidh Krishna are out of India’s Test team for the house series against South Africa. Jagadeesan and Prasidh were a part of the West Indies series, but they didn’t get a probability to play any match. Prasidh last played a Test for India at The Oval against England, whereas Jagadeesan is yet to make his debut for the Indian team.

Retained players: Captain Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv Jurel, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav are 13 players who’ve managed to retain their place within the Test team. Of those 13 players, 11 played in each the Tests against the West Indies.
