“Dance Mothers” alum Nia Sioux is getting candid about her time on the show in her latest memoir, “Bottom of the Pyramid.”
Throughout the book, the 24-year-old details traumatic experiences, just like the time her dance instructor, Abby Lee Miller, allegedly used racist language toward her. Sioux also revealed one other heartbreaking incident with Miller that she claims could have ended the show.
Nia Sioux starred in “Dance Mothers” for seven seasons from 2011 to 2017.

Nia Sioux Claims Abby Lee Miller’s Actions During This Scene Could’ve Ended ‘Dance Mothers’ For Good
Like most of the other girls on “Dance Mothers,” Sioux pursued a music profession in the course of the later seasons, releasing songs like “Star In Your Own Life” and “Slay.”
Nevertheless, Sioux claims in her book that her dance teacher, Miller, wasn’t completely happy about her pursuing music, alleging the 60-year-old felt slighted by Sioux signing a contract without her.
Sioux wrote that Miller—on camera—called her mentor, former Danity Kane member Aubrey O’Day, and allegedly bribed her with money to finish her working relationship with the young dancer.
“Once the decision connected and I heard the voice on the opposite end of the road, nevertheless, I froze,” she wrote, in keeping with PEOPLE. “It was Aubrey. Abby told her that she’d heard we were working together.”

“She went on to inform Aubrey that my mom wasn’t purported to contact her behind Abby’s back, that she was my manager, and that she was hurt by my mother using one in all her contacts to make an underhanded deal. She then offered Aubrey $10,000 to not work with me,” Sioux added.

Nia Sioux Says The Network Was Trying To ‘Protect’ Miller
Sioux admitted she was heartbroken by Miller’s alleged actions, writing that she ran out of the room and to her mother, Dr. Holly Frazier.
Based on Sioux, the version of this scene that aired on Lifetime was edited to “protect” Miller’s image from the audience and preserve the show.
“The network made it appear to be the women weren’t within the room and the mothers were, and additionally they cut out the part where Abby bribed Aubrey,” she wrote. “Since this was so malicious and vindictive, that they had to guard their interests. This was the sort of thing that might’ve gotten the show canceled — or at the very least in really hot water.”

The Moment Nia Sioux Felt ‘Alone’ In The ‘Dance Mothers’ World

After this blowup with Miller, Sioux wrote in her memoir that she didn’t receive the support from her co-stars that she had needed or hoped for.
“That is when it sank in that I used to be alone on this Dance Mothers world. Nobody was coming to save lots of me — well, nobody except my mom. It was now us against the world,” the book read.

Sioux Calls Out ‘Ignorant’ Miller For Alleged Racist Language During ‘Dance Mothers’ Filming
The alleged bribery attempt wasn’t the one disheartening encounter Sioux had with the outspoken television personality.
Based on a previous report from The Blast, Sioux also claimed in her book that she was the goal of racist behavior on set, accusing Miller of speaking negatively about her hair and her body.
“Abby told me that I needed to repair my hair since it looked awful. She said — on camera, no less —’ It’s like a log coming out of the side of her head,'” she wrote within the pages of her book before claiming Miller asked her whether she wished she had “white-girl hair.”
One other section of the book details one other interaction with Miller, who Sioux claimed told her she had flat feet because she was Black. “She would say, ‘Well, you realize your people have flat feet,'” the dancer wrote before slamming her for being “ignorant.”

Sioux Excites Fans With Latest Social Media Post
And while Sioux’s book details some heartbreaking moments, the truth star-turned-author recently excited fans after posting a video together with her former co-star, Chloe Lukasiak.
Dancing to a trending song featuring Nicki Minaj and 4 Non Blondes, Lukasiak and Sioux delighted fans as they danced side by side and promoted the brand new book.
“My babies, my babies, my babies,” a user commented. “I like the reunion and seeing you together!”
“I’m so glad they’re still friends,” one other wrote, while a 3rd added, “Exactly at all times been my favs.”
