Grand Theft Auto VI, one of the vital anticipated video games of all time, has been delayed, again — this time until November 19, 2026.
The sport was initially slated for a fall 2025 release but was pushed back to May 2026. On Thursday, Rockstar Games announced that the event team needs one other six months.
“We’re sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a protracted wait, but these extra months will allow us to complete the sport with the extent of polish you’ve gotten come to expect and deserve,” Rockstar Games wrote of their statement.
Grand Theft Auto VI is the sequel to Grand Theft Auto V, which was released in 2013. In keeping with Guinness World Records, that game became the fastest entertainment property to achieve $1 billion in sales, hitting the milestone after just three days available on the market. Fans are so eager for the subsequent installment within the franchise that when Rockstar Games released the trailer for the sport in December 2023, it broke the record for probably the most YouTube views in 24 hours (excluding music videos).
Rockstar Games didn’t provide additional details concerning the delay. Last week, the corporate fired between 30 and 40 employees for allegedly sharing confidential information in a Discord server.
