Pat Nevin has told Real Madrid they’d must pay around £200m to sign Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo, who’s ‘an absolute genius defensively’.

Caicedo has shined for the Blues this season with some football pundits arguing he has turn out to be the very best midfielder in the whole Premier League.

The 24-year-old has played a complete of 114 games for Chelsea since he joined the club in a £115m move from Brighton in the summertime of 2023.

There isn’t a suggestion that Chelsea are open to selling the Ecuador international, who’s under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2031.

But former Chelsea star Nevin is convinced that Caicedo is now value £200m and could be a guaranteed starter for any team on the planet.

‘Moises Caicedo is able to playing in any team because he’s greater than a destructive player, he’s an absolute genius defensively,’ Nevin told CasinoHawks.

‘Yes, he would interest Real Madrid, but I can’t see the numbers working. I’m struggling to see the numbers working.

‘Because if he’s bought for 115 million, how much [are Real Madrid] going to must spend to get him to present Chelsea a viable profit that they don’t feel as in the event that they’ve lost one in every of their best, if not their best, player?

‘You’re talking 200 odd million.’

Meanwhile, Nevin believes Chelsea might be set for a difficult spell from December to February after having little time to rest over the summer, when Enzo Maresca’s side were in motion on the Club World Cup.

‘Chelsea still have those strange, inconsistent results, which is the problem,’ Nevin added.

‘This is just not on account of any lack of quality from Chelsea, but because they’ve been working constantly, playing all through the summer with no break.

‘They’ll get more injuries. They haven’t had Cole Palmer for some time, they usually managed without Joao Pedro for some time, but they simply about managed it.

‘With a full squad, everyone fit, and everybody having a great summer, it might be a unique query.

‘Absolutely different query. But because it is now, these problems won’t suddenly disappear. What they’ve undergone last summer, they may worsen. They absolutely will worsen.

‘I expect December, January, and February to be the toughest times for Chelsea for this reason. They’ve a big squad, besides, there are only so many players.

‘Have a look at the quantity of centre-backs they’ve lost, it’s extraordinary, absolutely extraordinary. This isn’t a fluke, there’s a reason for it, and one in every of the explanations is the dearth of a summer break.’
