Jasprit Bumrah is leading India’s fast bowling attack in the continued first Test against South Africa at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Within the morning session of Day 1’s play, the 31-year-old pacer from Ahmedabad bowled seven overs and picked up two wickets for nine runs. On the sixth ball of his seventh over, he also trapped South Africa captain Temba Bavuma in front of the wickets but was declared not out by the on-field umpire.

After his appeal was rejected by the umpire, Bumrah discussed taking DRS along with his teammates, and through a chat with wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, he referred South African captain as ‘bauna’ (dwarf).

The clip of Bumrah’s comment for Bavuma went viral on the web. But Bumrah’s comments for Bavuma aren’t taking place well with some fans on social media platforms.

They’re criticising Bumrah for his response, and a few even asked him to apologise.

During his stay on the crease after coming out to bat at No. 4. Bavuma scored 3 runs from 11 balls. He was sent back to the pavilion by Kuldeep Yadav on the sixth ball of the sixteenth over. Dhruv Jurel, who’s playing as a specialist batter for India in the continued red-ball match at Eden Gardens, accomplished his catch within the leg slip.
